Asian Menus - Premium Class Pre-Order Options
As of February 1, 2010, American Airlines will only offer traditional Japanese meals to First Class and Business Class customers who pre-order them. If you will be traveling in Premium
Class between the U.S. and Japan, and if you wish to enjoy a traditional Japanese meal in-flight, then please pre-order a traditional Japanese meal. To pre-order, either call American Airlines Reservations at 1-800-433-7300 in the U.S. and Canada,
visit a local American Airlines ticket office or contact your travel agent. Pre-orders must be placed a minimum of 24 hours in advance of flight departure.
Transatlantic Menu
Our new transatlantic menus offer a taste of home and a taste of adventure. In order to enhance your experience on our flights between the U.S. and Europe, new menus are offered in First Class as well as Business Class.
The new menus incorporate appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts that reflect distinctively European and American tastes. You can already find the new menus featuring menu items created from European ingredients and recipes on flights from Europe to the United States. U.S. flights bound for Europe feature typically American cuisine.
Transcontinental Menu
When we develop new entrees, we turn to our Chefs' Conclave, a group of internationally acclaimed chefs, for inspiration. Chef Stephan Pyles,
Chef Dean Fearing and Chef Nancy Brussat provide us with valuable direction, as do our flight attendants and customers.
Based on this direction, we have created delicious entrees for Premium Class customers to savor inflight. Appetizers include
citrus-marinated scallops, and shrimp marinated in mojito sauce served with pineapple. Entrees include lamb shank with an ale tomato
sauce and tender lasagna with mushrooms and sausage; fresh seasonal vegetables accompany many of the main dishes. Customer feedback
also supported the introduction of American Classics entrees, where comfort meets gourmet. Such entrees include chicken pot pie and
hearty soup and sandwich combinations for lunch. Customers are encouraged to end their meal with an ice cream sundae or fruit and cheese.
Special Business Class Dining
American Airlines offers an exclusive Business Class meal service on our 2-Class Boeing 767 fleet. This service is offered on select flights to Europe as well as Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Some of the highlights featured in this service are: enhanced appetizer and salad courses, specially selected choice of entrees, and traditional ice cream sundaes with a selection of toppings. A Grand Marnier fruit salad with seasonal fruit sorbet is offered as a dessert alternative on select South American flights. Service is delivered by our friendly flight attendants, who offer a more personal touch to our Business Class passengers. We also continue to offer destination specific wine, amenity kits and inflight entertainment.
