Dear Travel Partner,
AA has introduced ticketing restrictions on all refundable domestic fares. This new ticketing policy will apply regardless of the point of sale. On most Premium Cabin and Full Fare Coach inventories, this change will add a ticketing requirement of 3 days before departure or 1 day after booking, whichever comes later. Many refundable fares in discounted coach inventories already require ticketing 1 day after reservation, and these rules will not be changed.
An overview of the new policy:
- Premium Cabin (F/A/P/J/D/I)
For bookings made at least 4 days before departure, tickets must be issued 3 days prior to departure
- Full Fare Coach (Y/B)
For bookings made less than 4 days before departure, tickets must be issued within 1 day of booking
- All other refundable Coach fares
Tickets must be issued within 1 day of booking
Exceptions:
- Bookings made before July 23rd, 2008
- Fares with overriding Advance Purchase requirements
- Fares with overriding rules dictated by contract language
- Any other exclusions noted in the rules of each specific fare
The fare rule section in all GDS has been updated to reflect the new policy. Our automated system SAGE has
been programmed to read the new ticketing requirements and generate an OSI message to the respective booking source if
the ticketing time limit is not met.
