Q. Does the fee apply to all paper tickets?
A. No, only to those that qualify for electronic ticketing issued at all AA ticketing locations worldwide and by travel agents from the 50 U.S., Canada, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, the Caribbean including Puerto Rico, U.S.V.I, Mexico, Central and South America and Japan points of sale.
Q. Does the fee apply to all points of sale?

Q. Are American's full-fare passengers exempt?
A. No. The fee applies to all passengers and fare types.
Q. Does the fee apply to voluntary exchange transactions?
A. Yes, if the customer's new itinerary is electronic ticket eligible and they choose a paper ticket, the fee will apply.
Q. Can the fee be refunded if the ticket is completely unused?
A. No, once the paper ticket is issued, the fee is nonrefundable.
Q. If the paper ticket is voided, does the fee apply?
A. No, the MCO / MPD can also be voided during authorized voiding period.
Q. What about involuntary situations or schedule changes?
A. The paper ticket fee will not be charged in any situation where an electronic ticket must be printed in order to accommodate the customer due to involuntary or schedule
change adjustments.
Q. If there are multiple passengers in the PNR, does an MCO / MPD have to be issued for each fee?
A. MCO - No, Agencies using MCO's may collect one fee per paper ticket, total it on the MCO and reference the ticket number or range of ticket numbers. Multiple forms of payment may be used.
MPD - Yes, Agencies using MPD's must issue one MPD per paper ticket issued.
Q. Where on the MCO / MPD should the ticket numbers be placed?
A.- MCO - in the endorsements box. In the type of service for which issued box put 001 ptf.
- MPD - in the issued in connection with box and the ticket check digit in the check digit box. place 001ptf and the PNR (record locator) in the endorsements box.
Q. What should the agent do with the MCO / MPD passenger receipt and exchange coupon?
A. Give the customer the passenger receipt with the paper ticket documents and destroy the exchange coupon if applicable.
Q. Does the fee apply to other airline flights plated on 001?
A. Yes, if the itinerary is e-ticket eligible, the fee applies.
Q. Is the paper ticket fee commissionable?
A. No. - Travel agencies may not take any commission on paper ticket fees nor can
they add Travel Agency service fees to
the paper ticket fee.
