American Airlines

Featuring:

A Global Airline

American, American Eagle and the AmericanConnection® airlines serve 250 cities in over 40 countries with, on average, more than 3,400 daily flights. American Airlines offers up to 37 daily non-stop departures from Europe to the US. The combined network fleet numbers nearly 900 aircraft. American Airlines is a founding member of the oneworld® Alliance, which brings together some of the best and biggest names in the airline business, enabling them to offer their customers more services and benefits than any airline can provide on its own. Together, its members serve more than 700 destinations in over 140 countries and territories.

Our success is built upon the breadth of our network and frequency of our flights. Every day we offer up to 20 flights direct to our US gateway cities from Heathrow and daily flights from Manchester and Dublin.

That includes the first flight from Heathrow to New York each day and the last leaving from New York back to London.

All flights from the UK and Ireland arrive into one of our 7 US gateway cities (New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Raleigh Durham, Miami and Dallas/Forth Worth), and are carefully timed to meet our connecting flights on to over 250 cities throughout the Americas. Our Schedule is available to view online along with an interactive map.

American Airlines has been a global leader for over three quarters of a century. Experience the quality for yourself on board our flights.

80 Years of History

On April 15, 1926, Charles Lindbergh, Robertson Aircraft Corporation's chief pilot flew a bag of mail in a DH-4 biplane from Chicago to St. Louis. This flight is regarded as the first regularly scheduled flight of what was to become American Airlines. A big fleet is required to fly our passengers to over 250 destinations throughout the Americas. With almost 80 years experience behind us, we deliver around 94 million customers to their destinations each year.
